If the parties cannot resolve these issues by way
of a formal or informal agreement, the usual method for obtaining
temporary orders is the "Order To Show Cause" hearing.
OSC papers are filed, a hearing date is set, and the papers are served
on the opposing party and/or his attorney. A hearing is held on the
issues usually within a month.
If there is some particular emergency which cannot wait for resolution,
temporary orders can be obtained on what is called an "Ex
Parte" basis within 24 hours.
