ERIC SARDINAS |
Eric Sardinas
in not your stereotypical bluesman. Black leather. Long hair.Tattoos.
He may look like a rocker, but Sardinas is a bluesman possessed
in the same tradition as Robert Johnson. With soulmates in bass
player Paul Loranger and drummer Scott Palacios, he is distinguishing
himself as a modern voice of the blues.
"If Satan had a blues band,
this would be it," Music Connection Magazine wrote. "Think
blues, only harder, faster and meaner ... Unpredictable, edgy
and intense."
Born in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Eric
started playing guitar at the age of 6, favoring the Delta blues.
His earliest inspirations were pioneering guitarists Charlie
Patton and Bukka White and through their music he discovered
other blues, notably the work of Big Bill Broonzy, Elmore James
and Muddy Waters. "The reason I was drawn toward Delta blues
was the thrill of hearing one person playing guitar and generating
the energy of five -- I loved the sheer strength and heart of
a single player," Eric says. |
